Biomechanical Manual Therapy Philosophy
No pain, no gain has no place in a manual therapy session. But what exactly does that mean? And why is it a precedent of The Loony Bin services?
As a mother of three with a busy career in both education and clinical settings, I understand how easily it is to ignore the messages our body sends to our brain about our physical health that need to be addressed.I am a muscle advocate and desire to give a voice to the muscular concerns of your body that we so often ignore. To do this, we must work with the current state of the tissue by creating signals that encourage the body to use its energy in those areas with enough pressure that the brain allots the resources to creating the change. But too much force will only create more damage on the tissue, which could result in scarring on the area. I want you to understand your pain is valid, where it is coming from, and that there is a path to more functional movement!
